The Power of Visualization. Last year while working through Reina & Co’s #dreamyclientmagnet course one of the exercises was to visualize your future. {Visualization exercises haven’t always been easy for me.}
We were to create a very detailed visualization of how we want our days to look.
I knew we would be moving to Monterey in 2019 and I visualized a lot of very tiny details, including: a bright white office, very airy, and an ocean view. I also visualized walks by the beach before my workday started.
Here is what happened
We moved into a rental house {base housing} that was painted a cream color {like a blah cream with yellow undertones!}, I’m talking the walls, the ceilings, the doors, and the baseboards in every room, not white.
We {actually my sweet husband} painted the walls white so I’d have that bright airy feeling I need for photos. Sometimes to make your dream a reality you have to roll up your sleeves, or enlist help!
Our house sits up on a big hill and if it’s a sunny day you can see a very tiny sliver of the ocean from my office, 95% of my view out the window is our backyard, garage and neighbors house, but there is a tiny bit of the ocean on a cloudless day!
Ellie’s preschool is about 1.5 miles from our house and once I drop her off I walk about 6 blocks and I am at the ocean.
Research shows that our brain cannot decipher the difference between if we visualize something or if it we actually did it. So visualizing what you want is a powerful way to train your brain to make it happen.
This visualization practice has been such a powerful reminder to me that our thoughts become things. Visualizing what we want isn’t woo-woo and crazy, it is actually pretty damn amazing.
